Heather Nichols

Heather Nichols has a total of 12 years of work experience. Heather started their career at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in 2007 as a Coder and worked there until 2009. In 2009, they joined OptumInsight as a Remote Coder/Auditor, where they adhered to high production and quality standards and conducted internal and vendor audits. In 2010, they were promoted to Coding Supervisor and was responsible for production, quality, training, and education for a remote team of coders. Heather also assisted in the implementation of the HEDIS coding and abstraction department. From 2013 to 2014, Heather worked as a Risk Adjustment Quality Auditor at OptumInsight, where they performed coder audits, provided feedback to improve coding quality, organized and scheduled coding mentor sessions, and coached coders to increase consistency. Since 2015, they have been working at medKoder as a Risk Adjustment Team Lead.

Heather Nichols has attended Nashville State Community College and the University of South Alabama, although the specific dates of enrollment and degrees earned are not provided.
