Medlok fittings for medical gas systems are a faster and safer alternative to brazed connections on copper tubing. In combination with the Medlok press tool, these axially swaged fittings create a permanent, threadless, mechanical, metal-to-metal seal making them NFPA 99 code compliant. This method of connecting medical gas tubing drastically reduces facility downtime, disruptions in patient care, and interruptions in staff productivity. Due to its contaminant-free and flame-free installation, Medlok fittings eliminate costs associated with brazing including hot work permits, fire watch personnel, and nitrogen purging, and eliminates fumes, sparks, and smoke. The Medlok fitting was designed using two proven sealing technologies; the twin ferrules of a compression fitting and the ball bearings of a quick-connect.
