Derrick Farris is a founding engineer at Medplum, where they work on an open-source, API-first electronic health record system. Derrick began programming at the age of 10 and has since developed a passion for web application programming, particularly in single-page applications. Their previous roles include contributing to projects at Oven, Shardus, and Pack.co, as well as working as a senior back-end developer at TekHero. Derrick is actively researching neural networks and the applications of deep learning while also focusing on decentralized systems in today's interconnected world. They are pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and Systems at the University of Texas at Dallas.
