Alexander Block

Alexander Block is a skilled software engineer currently working at MEETOPTICS with expertise in backend and frontend web development since April 2022. Prior experience includes a role as a postdoctoral researcher at Institut Català de Nanociència i Nanotecnologia (ICN2), where Alexander developed innovative tools to study heat and energy transport in 2D materials from July 2019 to March 2022. As a PhD researcher at ICFO from October 2014 to September 2019, Alexander focused on ultrafast microscopy and condensed matter physics, honing skills in experimental research, optics, and computational modeling. Earlier experiences include research at Bonn University, where Alexander contributed to plasmonic waveguide studies and taught various physics courses while completing degrees in physics at the University of Bonn, culminating in a PhD from ICFO.
