MEGA names David McLaughlin as Compliance Manager
Cloud storage and chat service MEGA has hired David McLaughlin as Compliance Manager. Mr. McLaughlin will be based in the company's headquarters in Auckland, New Zealand, where he will be responsible for ensuring its service complies with the highest standards of regulatory requirements. "David's appointment is integral to our growth strategy, ensuring that our terms of service are applied consistently and fairly for all users while keeping pace with demand for our services," said MEGA Executive Chairman Stephen Hall. “In a world where users are more aware of their rights to data privacy, the end-to-end user-controlled encryption provided by MEGA is being recognised as meeting the secure data storage and sharing needs of individuals and businesses at scale." Mr. McLaughlin is a barrister and solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand, with expertise in entertainment, IT and digital media law, both in New Zealand and abroad. He held leadership roles in leading law firms around the country before establishing his own practice in 2006.
