Xiaolin (Kevin) Wei is a seasoned professional in the fields of computer vision and artificial intelligence, currently serving as the Head of the Vision AI Department and Senior Director at Meituan since August 2019, where significant achievements include the formulation of strategies and the delivery of real-world solutions. Prior to Meituan, Xiaolin held the position of Principal Engineer and Manager at Magic Leap from August 2016 to July 2019, focusing on the development of a perception platform for AR glasses. Xiaolin also founded Virtroid Inc., where groundbreaking work in indoor localization and 3D reconstruction was accomplished, and previously contributed to Google’s 3D Maps team as a Senior Software Engineer. Early career experiences include a role as a Research Assistant at Texas A&M University when pursuing a PhD in computer science. Xiaolin holds a PhD in Computer Science from Texas A&M University, a Bachelor of Science from Xidian University, and attended Tsinghua University.
