Michael Ng, Ph.D., currently serves as Scientist 1 at MeliBio, focusing on engineering microbes for the expression and secretion of heterologous proteins since September 2022. Prior to this role, Michael was a Ph.D. candidate at the Hammer Lab, Georgia Institute of Technology, from August 2016 to August 2022, where significant research involved genetic engineering and genomic analysis that led to the discovery of an adaptive mutation affecting the transcription regulation of a protein secretion system in Vibrio cholerae. Michael also contributed as a teaching assistant and undergraduate research assistant at Hammer Lab while earning a Doctor of Philosophy in Microbiology from Georgia Institute of Technology. Prior educational credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Georgia Institute of Technology and an Associate of Arts in Biology from College of Central Florida.
