Alex Meltzer is a Hudson Valley-based ceramic artist. She creates functional and sculptural work inspired by nature, travel, design and tradition. Working with stoneware, she uses both handbuilt and wheel-thrown techniques to create her pots. Each piece is handmade and unique, intended to serve as both a memento and an object to be enjoyed every day.

The Meltz workshop series was born out of Alex’s desire to spread the joy and community she gets from creating with others. She believes ceramics does not have to be intimidating or formal, but rather inclusive and fun. She loves providing an opportunity for her participants to slow down, get a little dirty and connect. Her workshops are not just about teaching techniques but are an invitation to experience the beauty and tranquility of ceramic art.
