Alon Lavie

Alon Lavie has extensive experience in the field of AI research and language technologies. Alon currently holds the position of VP of AI Research at Phrase. Prior to that, they served as a Consulting Professor and Research Professor at Carnegie Mellon University. Alon has also worked as the VP of Language Technologies at Unbabel and the Machine Translation Group Manager at Amazon. Alon co-founded and held leadership positions at Safaba Translation Solutions. Their career began as a Research Assistant and Ph.D. Student at Carnegie Mellon University, and they also worked as a Member of Technical Staff at IBM.

Alon Lavie received a BA and MS in Computer Science from Technion - Israel Institute of Technology from 1983 to 1988. Alon later went on to earn a PhD in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University from 1989 to 1995.
