Waheed S.

Waheed S. is an experienced professional in the mining and chemical sectors, currently serving as the Head of Special Projects at MENAR since September 2023 and as a Mining Consultant and Advisor at Luminas (Pty) Ltd since May 2019. Previous roles include Vice President for Minova Africa, Managing Director at Octagon Minerals, and Group Chief Executive Officer at Wescoal Holdings. Waheed has also held key positions at BHP Billiton Energy Coal South Africa as Senior Manager of Strategy and Business Development, and at BHP in various managerial capacities, including in commercial strategy and project management. Early career experience includes roles at Dow Chemical as a Production and Project Engineer. Waheed holds a Chemical Engineering Degree from the University of Cape Town and a Bachelor of Commerce in Business Administration and Management from the University of South Africa.
