Eric Chen

Eric Chen is an accomplished technology executive with extensive experience in leadership roles across various companies. Currently serving as a Board Member at Mental Canvas since May 2019, Chen has previously held significant positions including Director of Reality Labs at Meta from October 2021 to January 2023, and CEO of Bellus3D, a startup focused on mobile 3D face scanning technology, from March 2015 to October 2021. Earlier career achievements include roles such as Chief Architect at Avaya, CEO of Persony, Inc. which specialized in cost-effective web conferencing, and leadership positions at Webex and Presenter, Inc. Chen's technical acumen was honed at Apple Computer, where contributions to the Advanced Technology Group resulted in multiple published papers in prestigious computer graphics conferences. Educational credentials include a Master’s in Computer Graphics from Cornell University, a Master’s in Industrial Design from The Ohio State University, and a Bachelor’s in Industrial Design from National Cheng Kung University.
