Jonathan Chong

Jonathan Chong has a diverse background in finance, risk management, and entrepreneurship, with extensive experience across various sectors. Initially serving as a Senior Officer in Cleantech at the Singapore Economic Development Board, Jonathan contributed to the nation’s economic growth and foreign investment attraction. Jonathan then co-founded LYS Energy, managing financial operations for a company focused on renewable energy in Southeast Asia, followed by the establishment of Friday Finance, an alternative lending company. Subsequent roles included Head of Risk at Adyen, overseeing risk strategies in the APAC region, and Head of Financial Operations at Xendit. Currently, Jonathan serves as a Venture Builder at Menyala, focused on scaling innovative startups. Jonathan holds a Master of Science from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Science from the London School of Economics. In addition to professional ventures, Jonathan has contributed to the Debate Association of Singapore as Vice-President and coached for Debate Mate, promoting debate skills and social mobility.
