Simon Powell

Simon Powell has extensive work experience in the field of solution architecture, with a focus on the technology and media industries. Simon is currently working as a Senior Solutions Architect at Merapar, starting in July 2021.

Prior to their current role, Simon worked at Arqiva for many years in various positions. Simon was a Lead Solutions Architect from July 2019 to June 2021, responsible for designing and implementing complex solutions. Before that, they served as a Solutions Architect from September 2014 to July 2019.

Simon also gained experience in the hybrid TV industry as a Technology Consultant at Arqiva from August 2013 to September 2014. In addition, they worked as a Design & Sales Support Engineer (Commercial Radio) from March 2012 to August 2013, and as an OSS Engineer from August 2007 to March 2012, both at Arqiva.

Earlier in their career, Simon worked as a Test/Product Engineer at SeeSaw from July 2010 to January 2011.

Throughout their career, Simon has demonstrated their expertise in solution architecture and has gained valuable experience in various roles within the technology and media sectors.

Simon Powell earned their Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Southampton between the years 2003 and 2007. In addition to their degree, they also hold certifications such as Professional Scrum Master I (PSM I) from Scrum.org, obtained in December 2022, and AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate from Amazon Web Services (AWS), obtained in March 2021.
