David Ellsworth

David Ellsworth has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies. David currently holds the position of Lead Data Scientist at Merative since 2022. Prior to that, they worked at IBM from 2016 to 2022 as a Lead Data Scientist, where they contributed by transitioning the production environment to Python and developing annual releases of various healthcare products.

Before IBM, David was employed at Truven Health Analytics from 1995 to 2016, where they held multiple roles such as Research Scientist, Statistician, and Staff Specialist. Their responsibilities during this time included developing strategies for transitioning regression models, enhancing fraud and abuse algorithms, and facilitating the launch of a claims data warehouse.

David also has experience working at Lockheed Martin from 1990 to 1994 as a Systems Engineer, where they analyzed satellite orbit and attitude problems. David began their career as a Graduate Research Assistant at Los Alamos National Laboratory in 1987.

David Ellsworth pursued their education in a chronological order. In 1982, they attended Minnesota State University, Mankato, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mathematics in 1986. Following this, they enrolled at Northwestern University from 1986 to 1987 and completed their Master of Science (MS) degree in Engineering Sciences and Applied Mathematics. In terms of additional certifications, David became an IBM Recognized Teacher/Educator and obtained this recognition twice, in September and November of 2021, at IBM. Moreover, they also attained the status of an IBM Mentor in August 2020.
