Born from a dream, Merchandising Concepts, Inc.(MCI) was founded in March 2005 by Beth Kuhlman.  After a successful first year of three model installs, MCI firmly planted themselves in the model home industry and looked towards developing future business opportunities to grown the company into 2006 and beyond.

Hey MCI, Help us sell these houses!

In the summer of 2007 MCI started providing staging services when the housing market dipped and there was a plethora of empty houses that clients needed help to get sold.  In 2008, MCI started provided “how to stage your house to sell” seminars for potential new home owners and the staging arm of the company really started taking off.   

Getting scrappy with furnishings...

During the housing crunch in the mid 2000's, model homes started to take on a new face in the strained housing market; the builders still needed to have models to help sell their communities, but their budgets became smaller and more challenging.  MCI started utilizing existing models to refurbish and create new models, which the end result ended up creating extra furniture left over to sell.  

Where are we going to keep all the stuff?

The MCI warehouse was established in 2009 and has since relocated several times with growing opportunities.  

Business continued to strengthen with the leveling out of the economy and MCI took on more models and staging projects along with new projects including commercial sales centers.  In 2014 the company hit a milestone of over $1 Million in revenue.  

With our 10 year anniversary in 2015, MCI merged the office and the warehouse facilities into one and relocated to the current location at 8004 Winchester Drive, Raleigh NC. As growth continued in 2017, we leased ANOTHER warehouse across the street from our corporate office so with the combined spaces of over 28000 square foot office/warehouses, our facilities serve as design studio, offices, storage, auction, public sale and receiving facilities.

MCI continues to be in a growth mode!  With 17 full time employees, we look toward future project and growth opportunities in 2018 and beyond!
