Chris Autry has worked in the technology industry since 2008. Theirfirst role was as an Electrical Engineering Co-op at Technical Associates, where they constructed HMI screens for food process management, constructed and installed beverage processing equipment, and installed, programmed, and tested Allen-Bradley SLK and ControlLogix PLCs. In 2012, they began working at MerchLogix, where they have held several roles. As a Staff Database Engineer, they estimated engineer hours and complexity for projects, performed database profiling and optimization, and maintained, extended, and created PostgreSQL extensions. As Database Supervisor, they converted application to execute parallel-safe queries, advised, initiated, negotiated, and planned infrastructure refresh, and built and maintained 3rd party integrations. As a Senior Database Engineer, they performed code review, new hire training, co-hosted the Atlanta area PostgreSQL users group, advised on development operations network and hardware architecture and specifications, and guided projects from initial Statement of Work through User Acceptance Testing. As a Database Engineer, they authored memcache integration with PostgreSQL via database extension, managed production, staging, development environments for multiple clients, performed code release, software upgrades across multiple clients with heterogeneous hosting environments, and built and maintained SAP integration, EDI processing, data validation, 3rd party integration and report generation software. In addition, they held a part-time role as a Middleware Developer, where they constructed credit card and check processing system, augmented and maintained pure PHP PDF generation library, and helped establish coding guidelines and standards.
Chris Autry attended Pacelli High School from 2006 to 2012. Chris then went on to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
