Michael Arlt is a seasoned scientist and former Vice President with over 30 years of leadership experience in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. Currently, Arlt leads a group of more than 200 analytical scientists and specialists at Merck Group, providing analytical services that support the company’s diverse R&D activities. Throughout their career, Arlt has successfully managed large teams, promoted a culture of diversity and inclusion, and has been deeply committed to mentoring young leaders in science. Previously, Arlt held various leadership roles at Merck KGaA and EMD Serono, contributing significantly to innovative research and development in pharmaceutical sciences. Arlt earned a doctorate in Chemistry from Georg August Universität Göttingen.
