Michael Tomlins

Michael Tomlins is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors. Currently serving as the Head of Legal, Compliance & Data Privacy at Merck Group since July 2022, Michael leads the legal and compliance team for the company's Healthcare, Lifesciences, and Electronics Divisions across the UK, Ireland, and the Nordics. Prior to Merck, Michael held significant positions at Novartis as Senior Legal Counsel, and at Roche as Assistant General Counsel and Pharma/Commercial Counsel, providing in-house legal advice on various regulatory, commercial, and intellectual property matters. Michael's career began at Gillhams LLP and Hammersmith Medicines Research Ltd, and educational qualifications include a PGDip in Law and Intellectual Property Law, as well as degrees in Law, Pharmacology, and Physiological Sciences.
