Abul Basar is a seasoned professional in global pharmaceutical access and pricing, currently serving as the Head of Global Pharma Access and Pricing at Merck since December 2024. Previously, Abul held the position of Vice President and Head of Global Value & Access at Gilead Sciences from October 2019 to December 2023. Abul's extensive experience includes several leadership roles at Novartis Oncology, where responsibilities spanned from Global Value and Access Franchise Head to Global Market Access Director between August 2013 and October 2019. Earlier in the career, Abul was the Senior Director of Integrated Access Strategy at GlaxoSmithKline. Abul holds a BPharm degree in Pharmacy from King's College London, completed in January 1993.
