Alan Cheng

Alan Cheng is a seasoned professional in the fields of computational chemistry and bioinformatics, currently serving as Senior Director at Merck since June 2017, where responsibilities include leading the Merck SSF Modeling and Informatics group. Additionally, Alan holds a dual role at Brandeis University as Chair of the Bioinformatics Graduate Program and Adjunct Faculty, teaching graduate courses in Bioinformatics. Previous experience includes positions at Amgen as Principal Scientist, contributing to oncology and heart failure therapies, and at Pfizer as Principal Scientist, focusing on computational chemistry and systems biology modeling. Alan Cheng earned a PhD in Biophysics from the University of California, San Francisco, and holds both a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and a B.A. in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of California, Berkeley.
