Bimal Koirala

Bimal Koirala, PhD, is a chemical biologist specializing in the de novo discovery of peptide-based therapeutics. Bimal's experience includes serving as a Senior Scientist in Pharmacology at Merck since 2023, and previously as a Postdoctoral Associate at The Rockefeller University, where they focused on developing small-molecule drugs from bacterial biosynthetic gene clusters. Bimal held academic roles as a Chemistry Lecturer at both Little Angel's College and VS Niketan Higher Secondary School. In addition, they completed a PhD in Chemistry at the University of Nevada, Reno, where they researched cell-cell communication in *Streptococcus pneumoniae*. Bimal's work encompasses a range of techniques, including mRNA display, peptide synthesis, and in vivo experiments.
