Carla Bauer

Carla Bauer is an accomplished professional in the field of oncology and respiratory diseases, currently serving as the Director of Oncology Search and Evaluation at Merck since September 2023. Prior experience includes a tenure at Novartis from January 2017 to September 2023, where Carla held the position of Director of Oncology Search and Evaluation, supporting lung and breast cancer franchises, and previously served as Associate Director of Strategic Transactions and Alliance Management in Business Development & Licensing. Carla's extensive background also includes leadership roles in the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research, Roche Pharmaceuticals, and McMaster University, focusing on drug discovery, translational biology, and complex respiratory disease models. Carla earned a PhD in Medical Sciences with a specialization in Infection and Immunology from McMaster University and holds a BMSc in Microbiology and Immunology from Western University.
