Dan Zhou

Dan Zhou is an Associate Principal Scientist at Merck, where they lead in vivo projects focused on Cardio Metabolic Diseases, including diabetes, obesity, NASH, and atherosclerosis. With a background in clinical medicine and extensive experience in drug discovery, Dan has contributed to multiple lead optimization and clinical candidates, managing studies and collaborating with cross-functional teams. They obtained their M.D. from Jinzhou Medical University and a Ph.D. in Behavioral Neuroscience from Lehigh University, mentoring research associates and guiding scientific development. Prior roles include senior positions at Merck and Neurogen Corporation, where they led projects in obesity and diabetes pharmacology.
