David Knightes possesses over three decades of experience in process safety and risk engineering across various industries. Beginning a career at CB&I Lummus as a Process Planning Engineer, David conducted feasibility studies and developed master plans for refinery and petrochemical complexes from 1988 to 2000. Following that, a role as a Senior Risk Engineer at Zurich Financial Services involved leading risk analysis for North American customers and serving as a recognized leader in the chemical and pharmaceutical segments. Subsequently, David held positions at RiskAnalytics, LLC as a Technical Manager, and at BP as a Process Safety/Risk Engineer, focusing on upstream operations and risk management. David also served as the Global Casualty Engineering Practice Leader at Torus Insurance and as a Senior Process Safety Engineer at Thermo Fisher Scientific. Currently, David is the Associate Director of Process Safety at Merck. David holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology.
