John Hough

John Hough has extensive experience in procurement and clinical development, currently serving as the Head of Clinical Development Sourcing and Procurement at Merck since January 2019. Prior to Merck, John held the position of AVP and Head of Global Procurement for Clinical Services at Sanofi from November 2016 to December 2018. John’s career also includes significant roles at Boehringer Ingelheim, where John was Director of Global Sourcing for Clinical & Central Services and Head of Purchasing. John began in the procurement field with positions at Pfizer, Eli Lilly and Company, and SmithKline Beecham, demonstrating a strong foundation in sourcing and purchasing. John earned a BSc in Business and Chemistry from Aston University between 1994 and 1998.
