Julia Hotek, PhD, is currently an Associate Principal Scientist at Merck, specializing in Investigative In-Vivo Safety Pharmacology. They earned their Doctor of Philosophy in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, where they focused on creating mechanical and neural computer models of the Pacinian corpuscle during their research. Prior to their role at Merck, Julia was a Senior Scientist in the same department and also completed a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania's Spine Pain Research Lab. They hold a Bachelor's degree in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania.
