Kyle E. Ruhl is an experienced Associate Principal Scientist at Merck, with a focus on enabling technologies and co-leading the continuous-flow solid-phase peptide synthesis initiative. Since December 2016, Kyle has explored and developed new technologies for solid-phase peptide synthesis in variable bed reactors, transitioning from laboratory to kilo lab scale. Prior roles include Senior Scientist in Process Research and Development, where work involved generating GMP-quality active pharmaceutical ingredients for early clinical applications and supporting product launches through diverse project experiences in high throughput experimentation, flow chemistry, photochemistry, biocatalysis, and electrochemistry. Kyle completed a PhD in Organic Chemistry at Columbia University and holds a BS in Chemistry from Lycoming College. Internship experiences at Merck in Discovery Process Chemistry and Medicinal Chemistry further complement Kyle's background.
