Mackenzie Smith

Mackenzie Smith (Lauro) is an Associate Principal Scientist at Merck, where they develop high throughput assays to enhance vaccine process development. They previously served as a Senior Scientist at Merck, focusing on biochemistry and binding assays. Mackenzie began their career as a Methods Development Intern at Sartomer USA, LLC, after earning a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from West Chester University. They also hold a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Delaware, where they contributed to various research projects and served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant.
