Mark Layton

Mark Layton is a Principal Scientist at Merck with extensive experience in medicinal chemistry and program leadership. They have held several key roles, including Director and Program Team co-Leader, where they led neuroscience programs and coordinated research across multiple departments. Layton served as a Senior Research Chemist prior to becoming a Principal Scientist and has made significant contributions to oncology and neuroscience development compounds. They earned two Bachelor's degrees in Biology and Chemistry, both Summa Cum Laude, from the University of Cincinnati, and a PhD in Organic Chemistry from Harvard University.
