Matthew Schmidt

Matthew Schmidt has extensive experience in quality management and production within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors, having served at Merck from June 2014 to September 2021 in various leadership roles, including Director of Third Party Quality Management and Associate Director of Biologics/Vaccine Developmental Quality. In these roles, oversight was provided for clinical biologics and vaccines drug substance production and analytical development. Additionally, as Associate Director and Production Lead for the Sterile Liquid Pilot Plant, Matthew led a team responsible for manufacturing a diverse range of injectable drug products. Matthew holds both a Master's degree and a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Lehigh University, where involvement in activities such as AiChe and the Tennis Club enhanced academic experiences.
