Mike Veling

Mike Veling, PhD, is a Senior Imaging and Data Scientist currently employed at Merck, where they focus on high-content imaging. They earned a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry and Biochemistry from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and completed their Doctor of Philosophy in Biochemistry at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Veling has held various research positions, including a Postdoctoral Scientist role at Harvard Medical School, where they explored protective mechanisms in tardigrades for potential applications in biological preservation. Their early experience includes internships at Michigan State University and the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center, where they worked on microarray data analysis and protein-RNA interactions, respectively. Veling has also contributed to undergraduate education as a Supplemental Instructor in Chemistry at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
