Nicholas Barrows

Nicholas Barrows, PhD, is an Associate Principal Scientist at Merck, where they provide subject matter expertise in the design of in vitro assays to support pre-clinical drug development and mRNA vaccine design programs. With a background that includes roles as a Grad Student at UTMB and a Postdoctoral Fellow at The University of Texas Medical Branch, Barrows has significantly contributed to the understanding of flavivirus infections and RNA vaccine technologies. They have co-authored highly cited articles and patents related to RNA vaccine designs targeting RSV. Barrows obtained their PhD in Virology from Duke University, following a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Wittenberg University.
