Rab Smylie is an experienced Project Management Leader with over 20 years in the biopharmaceutical industry, having worked with major companies such as GSK and Merck, as well as emerging cell and gene therapy firms like WindMIL Therapeutics and Passage Bio. Currently serving as the Director of Strategic Pipeline Project Management at Merck, they have successfully progressed multiple pipeline assets from Pre-Clinical to Phase 2 development and built several Project Management Offices. Rab's expertise spans strategic and operational pipeline asset development and project management, with demonstrated leadership in high-priority initiatives and a proven track record of delivering successful project outcomes across diverse therapy areas. They hold a Master’s Degree in Industrial Project Management from the University of Birmingham and a Higher National Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Ulster University.
