Rafael Campo

Dr. Rafael Campo is the Executive Director of HIV Global Scientific Affairs at Merck & Co., Inc. Previously, Dr. Campo held several roles at Gilead Sciences, Inc., including Executive Director and Senior Director within the Medical Affairs group, focusing on Latin America and the Caribbean. Prior to this, they served as a faculty member and Professor of Medicine at the University of Miami School of Medicine, where their research concentrated on HIV therapies and antiretroviral resistance. Dr. Campo has also occupied key administrative positions within the University of Miami Health System, including Chief Medical Officer and Chief Patient Safety and Quality Officer. They earned their Doctor of Medicine degree from Universidad Autónoma de Centro América.
