Ryan Vargo

Ryan Vargo is an experienced professional in pharmacology and pharmacometrics, currently serving as Executive Director for Infectious Disease & Vaccines at Merck since August 2009. Vargo has held multiple leadership roles within the company, including Senior Director and Director of the Infectious Disease Group, where responsibilities included overseeing quantitative pharmacology for various pipelines and engaging with regulatory bodies such as the FDA. Furthermore, Vargo led talent development initiatives and cross-functional projects, contributing to drug development strategies for HIV and other therapeutic areas. In addition to Merck, Vargo has been an Adjunct Associate Professor at Purdue University since May 2019, where duties involve lecturing and mentoring students. Vargo earned a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Rice University and a BS in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University.
