Sam Reffsin is currently an Associate Principal Scientist in Preclinical Development at Merck, where they lead a systems biology group focused on using high-dimensional measurements to enhance large molecule development. Sam previously held the position of Oncology Bioinformatics at Genentech, where they employed advanced bioinformatics tools to discover conserved pathogenic states in fibrotic cell lineages. They also completed a PhD in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania, developing single cell biology tools for identifying viral infection-susceptible epithelial cell subsets. Prior to that, Sam served as an Associate Scientist in Vaccine Bioprocess Research and Development at Merck. Sam earned a Bachelor of Science in Biological Engineering from Cornell University.
