Sandra Gabelli is the Global Head of Protein and Structural Chemistry at Merck, where they lead a drug discovery group focused on the structural basis of signaling in various diseases. Previously, they held the position of Director of the Eukaryotic Tissue Culture Facility and Assistant Professor at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine from 2016 to 2022. Sandra has a strong commitment to diversity and talent development in STEM, actively mentoring and creating opportunities for local talent. They were also an NSF Graduate Student Fellow from 1994 to 1999, studying structure-function relationships at the National Science Foundation.
