Sean Smith

Sean Smith is the Associate Vice President of Neuroscience at Merck, where they lead the development of novel therapeutics aimed at treating neurodegenerative diseases. With a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a B.A. in Biology from SUNY Oswego, they have a strong academic foundation. Sean's previous roles include Senior Research Biologist and Executive Director at Merck, as well as Postdoctoral Fellow at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies, where they conducted significant research on neuroendocrine functions. They have consistently guided drug discovery teams and established collaborations that advance the field of neuroscience.
