Serena L. possesses diverse experience in the fields of biotechnology and engineering, having worked in various roles that highlight laboratory, research, and supply chain skills. At the Salk Institute for Biological Studies, Serena contributed to research on Parkinson’s disease, performing cell culture and molecular analysis. As a Supply Chain Engineering Intern at BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc., effort focused on creating a comprehensive database for manufacturing processes critical to rare-disease drug pipelines. Additionally, experience as a Research Assistant at UC San Diego included support for cell fabrication and performance testing, while a subsequent internship at Kite Pharma involved multivariate data analysis to enhance CAR-T manufacturing processes. Serena also demonstrated leadership abilities as an Assistant Program Director for the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, and currently serves as an Associate Specialist in Engineering at Merck.
