Stephen Artim is an accomplished scientist with extensive experience in pharmaceutical and academic research. Currently serving as a Director at Merck since July 2019, Stephen previously held positions as a Principal Scientist in Preclinical Development and as a Research Scientist and Postdoctoral Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from July 2015 to June 2019. During this tenure, Stephen focused on in vivo systems biology to understand signaling pathways in gastric cancer models and assessed biomarkers through multivariate analysis. Stephen completed a VMD and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics at the University of Pennsylvania, where a significant part of the academic journey included graduate studies from 2006 to 2015. Early career experiences include roles at Haverford College and the Lankenau Institute for Medical Research, contributing to the understanding of cell cycle mechanics and enzyme construction.
