Zhen

Zhen Ma is the Director of Novel Expression Systems at Merck, where they manage and grow technical teams to achieve project milestones and support individual career development. With years of industrial experience, Zhen has worked on improving recombinant protein production across various hosts, including Bacillus subtilis and Escherichia coli. Prior to their current role, Zhen served as a Senior Research Investigator at DuPont and led strain engineering efforts at International Flavors & Fragrances. They obtained a PhD in Biochemistry from Texas A&M University and have a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from Fudan University.
