Alistair Rix has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and industries. Alistair started their career as a Senior Systems Engineer at EDS Group in 2004 and later joined JPMorgan Chase & Co. as a Senior Systems Engineer. There, they managed Solaris, Linux, and AIX systems and played a technical lead role in the Web Hosting Team. In 2007, Alistair joined Microsoft (Multimap) as a Senior Systems Engineer, where they worked on mapping and location-based services.

Moving forward, Alistair worked at Microsoft as a Senior Systems Engineer, focusing on integration projects and migration of services. Alistair then joined Byyd as the Chief Technology Officer, responsible for managing their global mobile advertising platform and a team of 20 staff. At Byyd, they implemented Big Data principles and handled high-frequency, low-latency trading platforms.

Alistair's journey continued at AXON VIBE, where they served as the Head of DevOps and later as a DevOps Architect on a contract basis. At AXON VIBE, they were involved in platform architecture, operation, and acted as a senior platform and big data architect. Afterwards, they worked as a DevOps Architect (Contract) at Axon Vibe, providing technical expertise in managing their infrastructure.

In 2019, Alistair joined Shields Energy as a DevOps Architect (Contract), where they implemented devops style orchestration and provisioning of a cloud-based platform. Alistair refactored the existing AWS implementation to address security requirements and ensure best practices.

Most recently, Alistair joined Mercuria Energy Trading S.A. as a Lead DevOps Engineer in 2020.
