Nelson M. is a seasoned energy professional currently serving as a Field Technical Assistant at Mercy Corps since October 2023. With extensive experience in energy engineering, Nelson has held notable positions such as Senior Energy/Electrical Engineer at Energy Intelligence Africa, where responsibilities included energy consumption inspection and field data collection. At Kenya Ports Authority, Nelson worked as a Carbon Analyst, focusing on updating the Green Port Policy and calculating the carbon footprint of various facilities using the WRI Greenhouse Gas Protocol. Additionally, Nelson acted as a Solar Consultant for GIZ Kenya, designing an off-grid solar PV system, and conducted sector analysis on energy efficiency in the food and beverage manufacturing sector.
