Simon Purvis

Simon Purvis is an experienced maritime professional with a diverse background in various roles within the industry. Currently serving as a Maritime Safety Instructor, Maritime Career Advancement Specialist, and Crewing Manager at Mercy Ships since August 2021, Simon has previously held positions as Assistant Pier Master and Assistant Dock Master at Associated British Ports from April 2017 to August 2021. Earlier in the career, Simon worked at Mercy Ships from January 2014 to December 2015 as Second Officer and Third Officer, and at Pritchard-Gordon Tankers Ltd from September 2008 to December 2013 as Third Officer and Deck Cadet. Simon holds an HND in Nautical Science from South Shields Marine School, completed in 2012, and graduated from Sunderland High School in 2005.
