Garrett Smith

Director, CX Strategy

Garrett Smith currently serves as the Director of CX Strategy at MERGE, focusing on leading customer experience initiatives for digitally driven clients while balancing people management and hands-on contributions. Prior to MERGE, Garrett worked as a Principal at HARQ CX Design Strategy, enhancing customer-focused research and strategy. At Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, Garrett held the roles of Director and Manager of CX Strategy & Design, where notable achievements included implementing a design sprint process and developing a comprehensive customer experience vision impacting over 100 million people. Garrett's career also includes experience as a Senior Associate at SC Johnson, where work on the Ziploc brand and a malaria prevention initiative was highlighted, as well as as an Industrial Designer at Focus Products Group, launching numerous products across various retailers. Garrett holds a BFA in Industrial Design from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and possesses additional education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Canterbury Christ Church University.
