Julio A.

Julio A. is an experienced legal and business professional with a robust background in technology and corporate governance. Currently serving as co-CEO and board member at Observable since September 2019, and as co-founder and advisor at Shades since April 2021, Julio has also been a board member at Merico since February 2019. Prior experience includes key leadership roles at GitHub from December 2012 to September 2018, where Julio was instrumental in the company’s growth leading up to its acquisition by Microsoft, as well as corporate counsel at Yelp preceding the company's IPO. Additionally, Julio was a managing associate at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP from April 2006 to August 2011. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Law (JD) from Columbia Law School and a Bachelor's degree in English and Philosophy from the University of Florida.
