Michael Wright

Michael Wright has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Michael is currently working as a Senior Project Manager at Meridian Energy. Prior to this, from 2019 to 2022, they held the position of Senior Associate at Frequency. At Mott MacDonald, they served as a Senior Project Manager, managing the Construction Phase Services team and later working as a Design Co-ordinator for the Western Program Alliance projects. Before that, they were the Engineering Manager at Refuel International, responsible for leading the Engineering team. Michael also worked as an Aviation Operations Engineer at BP Oil NZ Ltd and held various positions in the Royal New Zealand Airforce, including Fleet Planning Manager and Junior Engineering Officer. Additionally, they gained experience as a Maths Tutor at the University of Canterbury and worked as a CNC Lathe Operator at AW Fraser Ltd.

Michael Wright attended Shirley Boys High School from 1999 to 2003, where they earned a Higher School Certificate. During this time, their studies focused on Chemistry, Maths, Physics, and Economics. Following their high school education, Michael enrolled at the University of Canterbury from 2004 to 2007. Michael pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree with a specialization in Mechanical Engineering.
