Rhavan Mitchell joined Meritan in 2014 as Foster Care Case Manager. In 2015, Rhavan transitioned to Home and Community Based Services as a Case Manager working with the Department of Human Services, Social Service Block Grant (SSBG) as well as Adult Protective Services (APS). In Rhavan’s role she monitored the safety, care, and well-being of the aging population. Ensuring that the elderly received an overwhelming amount of supportive services which allowed them to remain inside the comfort of their homes while receiving in-home care. Rhavan was promoted in July 2020 to Program Director of Home and Community Based Services.
Rhavan is a 2012 graduate of the University of Memphis with a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice with a minor in Sociology. Rhavan received her Master’s degree in 2018 in Human and Social Services shortly afterwards she received a Certificate in Public Management and Leadership for Nonprofits. Also in 2018, Rhavan began working as a Care Coordinator/ Case Manager with the United Way’s Driving the Dream program which navigates, collaborates, and connects individuals, children, and families to resources in the community.
Rhavan is a member of Professional Network of Aging and volunteers with the Shelby County Volunteer Support Committee.
