Brian Weir

Brian Weir has over 18 years of diverse work experience. Brian started their career as a Sales Representative at Baker and Taylor, where they sold books and media products to school libraries. Brian then worked as a Sales Rep at Virco Mfg Corp, where they were responsible for sales in the education market. Brian later joined Surface Materials, Inc. as a Contract Sales representative, where they distributed commercial building products.

In 2010, Brian became a Systems and Service Sales Representative at Chubb, A UTC Fire & Security Company, where they sold fire alarm and sprinkler system inspection contracts and upgrades. Brian also sold fire alarm monitoring services and identified business opportunities. Brian then moved on to Red Hawk Fire & Security, where they worked as a Senior Sales Representative and Sales Mentor. Their responsibilities included selling fire alarm and security system upgrades to commercial clients, with a focus on healthcare, education, industrial, and hospitality sectors.

Brian also has experience as a Regional Sales Manager at ipDatatel, LLC, where they conducted training seminars and sales calls for alarm installers and distributors in the northeast states. Brian furthered their sales career as the Eastern US/Eastern Canada Region Service Engineer at Meritech, where they provided machine service and maintenance to commercial hand sanitizing and boot scrubbing systems. Brian also assisted in selling the company's products and service contracts.

In addition to their sales roles, Brian served as the President of the Connecticut Chapter of the American Society of Certified Engineering Technicians from 2012 to 2017. In this position, they organized and facilitated monthly meetings, developed marketing programs to attract new members, and collaborated with the national chapter.

Before their professional career, Brian worked as a part-time Editor/Writer and as a Zamboni Driver at Choate Rosemary Hall. Brian possesses skills in sales, marketing, customer relations, and technical service.

Brian Weir completed their education with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature, with a minor in Communication Science, from the University of Connecticut. Brian attended the University from 1994 to 1996. Prior to that, Brian obtained an A.A. Liberal Arts degree from Plymouth State University from 1992 to 1994, with a focus on English, Sociology, Geography, and Physical Education. Their educational journey began at Lyman Hall, where they earned an Academic Diploma, specializing in academics and sports, from 1988 to 1992. In addition to their academic achievements, Brian has obtained several certifications. Brian earned an NICET Level II- Fire Alarm Systems certification from the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies in November 2014. Brian also holds an NICET Level I- Fire Alarm Systems certification from the same institution, acquired in August 2012. Furthermore, Brian obtained an OSHA 10 certification from 360Learning in February 2023.
