Tamara Hamdan has extensive experience in operations, finance, and management consulting. Tamara began their career in 2004 as the Founder and CEO of Layali Jewelry Design. In 2005, they interned at Smith Barney. From 2006 to 2010, they worked at Huron Consulting Group, first as an Analyst and then as an Associate. During this time, they managed a team analyzing unreimbursed research expenses and led a project to enhance research administration at an Ivy League University. From 2010 to 2017, they worked at Columbia University in the City of New York, first as a Director and then as an Executive Director. During this time, they improved productivity, business processes, and team cohesion. From 2017 to 2018, they completed a one year journey of travel, learning, and service while providing pro-bono financial and operations consultancy services to social enterprises. From 2018 to 2019, they were the Founder of Partera Advising, a business consultancy that helps businesses and non-profit organizations refine their structure, teams, systems, and processes for optimal operations and impact. From 2019 to 2021, they were the Head of Finance at Capsule. Currently, they are the Vice President of Operations at Mesh++.
Tamara Hamdan obtained a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Global Strategy and Social Enterprises from Columbia Business School in 2013. Tamara also earned a B.S. in Entrepreneurship, Global Strategy, and Finance from the University of Southern California - Marshall School of Business between 2002 and 2006. Tamara also obtained a Certificate in French from the University of Geneva in 2003 and a Certificate in Arabic from the American University of Beirut in 2004. Prior to that, they attended Santa Margarita High School from 1998 to 2002.
